Waiting For
Milan, 2011
A series of portraits of refugees coming from the North African Countries to escape from the Arab Spring Revolutions.
These people crossed the Mediterranean Sea by illegal boats and arrived in Lampedusa.
After that they were taken to Pieve Emanuele, a small town just outside Milan, where they were stuck for months waiting for a regular permission of stay, or a denial of it.
The idea behind this work was to produce wrong passport pictures (with no plain background) to enphasize their status.
In collaboration with Michela Battaglia.
