Corpus Domini

These sets are the preparation for the procession of Corpus Domini, a Catholic solemnity that is meant to celebrate the presence of the body and blood of Jesus Christ in the Eucharist, which is the rite instituted during the Last Supper when Jesus gave his Apostles bread and wine commanding his disciples to do the same in his memory, referring to the bread as his body and the wine as his blood.

Corpus Domini should be normally held on the Thursday after Trinity Sunday, but under the liturgical reforms of 1969 by Pope Paul VI the bishops of each nation have the option to transfer it to the following Sunday.
This short series was in fact shot on Sunday 03 June 2018 in Scauri, a little village on the Sicilian Island of Pantelleria.
